Reptile shows have the best prices, best animals and the best overall quality. At a reptile show you get to talk to the actual breeder, not just some minimum wage pet store employee.
Reptiles are among the more exotic pets and owning them can be a very fascinating and rewarding experience so it pays to take the time to choose the best one.
Unfortunately some pet stores give out faulty information when selling these animals and there are even some vets who give out incomplete information. So you really do have to take extra care.
Complete with information on choosing a leopard gecko, feeding it, creating a vivarium, and more, the book I am curently writing has a fun design and color photos that make it extra appealing. It will offer you all the basic advice you need to get going with your gecko - and more.
You should look for a gecko with a fat tail because that means it’s a healthy one. Of course if they are young then they won’t have a fat tail yet.
One word of advice to adults, children should be monitored when handling Leopard Geckos because if the gecko is under extreme stress or fear their tails can fall off. And if your children pull on the tail that can also cause them to fall off.
For that reason it’s best to supervise very young children with geckos.
You’ll find more information in part 2, to be published shortly.
